What to Expect

Before the Session

Before your session we will stay in touch over the phone and through emails and/or texts. I will answer any of your questions and offer my professional advice on choosing outfits to wear, choosing a location, to have the session, that fits your style, the time and date of your session, and what you will need to bring to your session. I will give you a welcome packet when you first book your session and pay your session fee. Inside of the packet you will find a couple of things that need to be returned to me prior to your session. These forms must be filled out and signed by you and returned to me before the session can begin. I will make sure you are fully prepared prior to your session!

During Your Session (Family | Children)

Once we arrive at the location, I will get to know everyone and help everyone feel at ease. I always talk to the children and let them know that I am going to take their pictures and we are going to have a lot of fun! I always begin the session with a posed portrait because the little one's attention spans are short and I can usually get them to be still and look in my direction for only a minute or two! After I have gotten the shots that I want, we will move on to individuals of each child and then of them all together. I will also try to capture a couple of just mom and dad. Now, is the fun part, I will have the children just jump, play, or be silly for more candid shots of them. The entire session will take about an hour and then we are finished! :)

During your Session (Newborn)

Newborn sessions are held indoors at my in-home studio or at your home, whichever you prefer. Babies should be between 4-14 days old at the time of their newborn session. Babies should eat right before the session, so they will be in a deep, milk-induced sleep. If you could feed him/her right before you leave home, that would be perfect. Once you arrive, we will undress the baby, including diaper, and lie them down for a few minutes to get comfortable and fall back asleep. Parents will remain in another room for the baby's portraits, unless the baby needs to be fed. Babies simply don't sleep as soundly if they can smell mommy. Once I get all of the shots of baby, which could take 2-3 hours, I will then take photos of the parents and siblings with the newborn. Newborn sessions take longer because they need to be soothed, fed, and changed and thier comfort is my number one priority.

After Your Session

After your session is complete, I will post a few sneak peeks on facebook and my blog. If you would like to be tagged on facebook, please add me, Casey Kelley, as your personal friend. Then 2-3 weeks after your session, I will host an online, password protected, gallery for you to view and purchase your portraits from. I am also available for in-person ordering consultations if you would like me to be there to answer any questions about products and sizes and offer advice. The gallery will be available for one full week and will expire after that time frame. There is a $50 rehosting fee for every additional week needed after the gallery's expiration. Please share the gallery with family and friends! You can place your order over the phone, via email, or through the gallery. If you would rather pay by credit card, cash or check instead of paypal, choose pay offline and I will assist you in paying.

Delivery of Your Order

Once your have placed your order and paid in full, you can expect to receive prints and products within 2-3 weeks. If you have ordered any specialty items, such as albums, canvases or Organic Bloom Frames, please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. I will hand deliver your order to your home or location of your choice. All orders are packaged in gorgeous boutique packaging, so it will feel like Christmas morning! Due to the custom nature of your order, all sales are final.
